Biography:

Dr. Timothy Sean Quinn received his Ph. D. in philosophy from The Catholic University of America in 1985. His dissertation, directed by Richard Kennington, studied the common origins of modern aesthetics and historicism by means of a comparison between Lessing, Rousseau, Kant and Schiller. Dr. Quinn came to Xavier University in 1987, where he has taught courses concerning Kant, Aristotle, Aesthetics, Philosophy of Religion, Epistemology and Metaphysics. For six years Dr. Quinn directed the Honors Bachelor of Arts Program at Xavier University, and remains involved with University honors programs. He has published on Aristotle, Kant, Boethius, and the problem of faith and reason in the eighteenth century. Dr. Quinn holds the rank of Professor.
