The Xavier community is invited to join us each week for the 4:00 p.m. student Mass celebrated by Fr. Al Bischoff, S.J. and the 10:00 p.m. student Mass celebrated by Fr. Michael Graham, S.J., Fr. John LaRocca, S.J. and Fr. Joe Wagner, S.J. who alternate presiding.

Bellarmine Chapel serves both as the chapel for Xavier University and a Roman Catholic parish in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.

In order to prevent the spread of the H1N1/Swine flu on campus,
we will follow the following protocols for Mass as recommended by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and the Cincinnati Health Department:

·         If you are showing any symptoms of the flu or may have been exposed ... stay home ... your are dispensed of your obligation to participate in Mass due to illness

·         If you are pregnant or have a chronic medical condition we encourage you to worship at another church to lower your risk of exposure

·         We will not hold hands during the Lord’s Prayer

·         During the Sign of Peace, it is important that we make some gesture of “peace” that does not include touching

·         All Eucharistic ministers will wash their hands before distributing

·         We will use hosts instead of baked bread

·         We will not distribute from the cup to the congregation

·         If it is your practice to receive Communion on the tongue, we ask that you receive in the hand in order to protect both yourself and the distributor of Communion

·         Until the flu subsides, we will not have any socials before or after Mass

We hope to return to our usual liturgical practice as soon as possible.
