Biology at Xavier
All biology majors complete 20 semester credit hours of required biology courses including General Biology I, General Biology II, Genetics, Vertebrate Physiology and Methods of Biological Research, plus 16 semester hours of biology electives.
Majors must also complete eight semester hours of physics, 17 semester hours of chemistry (including organic), and six semester hours of mathematics. In these other science areas, students find the background and techniques for carrying on analytical studies in biology.
