Where do I go to purchase my new Xavier parking permit?
Please log on to your MyXU portal, if a registered student or employee, and go to the parking services channel on either the student or employee services tab. Once logged in, click on "Buy A Xavier Permit" and the permits available to you will be displayed. You may also login here.
How long will it take to receive my new Xavier parking permit?
It will typically take 5-7 business days for you to receive your parking permit in the US mail. You must print off the temporary permit online that will need to be displayed on your vehicle’s dashboard until your actual permit is received. It is also important to provide a shipping address at which you will be able to physically receive the permit upon its arrival.
Where should I park on campus?
Please review Xavier University’s Parking Rules and Regulations. Our Xavier Campus Map highlights available parking lots by permit types. There is also a PDF version of the campus map here. Each parking permit has a specific set of parking lots that correspond to the pass you have been assigned. It is very important that you abide by these assignments. Failure to do so could result in a citation.
Where should I park on game nights or when special events are taking place on campus?
Please refer to the campus announcements on the MyXU Portal, Xavier today, Digital Signage, or e-mails sent to students, faculty, and staff prior to an event. These announcements will give the best directions on where to park in advance of an event. Lot availability will change for these events and one may not be able to park in a lot that is normally assigned to your permit type. If I need to pay a citation, where do I go?
When a citation is received, please make payment through the MyXU portal. Your parking account is accessible through either the student or employee services tab on the parking services channel. You must pay a citation within 10 calendar days. If a citation goes unpaid after this time period, it will automatically be added to a student or employee account. It is an individual’s responsibility to manage their own account.
What payment options are there for me when purchasing a permit or paying a citation?
Anyone may pay online using a credit card or by choosing to bill the charge to their Bursar account. You may also pay in person at the Bursar’s Office, located in the Musketeer Mezzanine of Fenwick Place.
If I need to appeal a citation, where do I go?
When a citation is received, an appeal may be made through the MyXU portal. Your parking account is accessible through either the student or employee services tab on the parking services channel. You must wait 24 hours before taking any action on a citation that has been received. You will then have 7 calendar days to submit an appeal online. Please refer to automated e-mails and your parking account for further information on the status of your submission. ALL appeals shall be filed online. Appeals will not be accepted in person. It is an individual’s responsibility to manage their own account.
Who will make the decision on appeals?
Appeal decisions will be made by the Parking Appeals Panel. The Parking Appeals Panel is made up of a diverse group of people that best represent the Xavier University community. There will be a representative from the students, faculty, and staff. All of these members have a great awareness of our University’s Parking Rules & Regulations and feel it only fair to make sure they are uphold the mission and values of Xavier University in all decisions.
Where can visitors park on campus?
Based on your intended visit to campus, visitors will be directed to the most reasonable lot as a parking option. There are designated visitor spots in the Gallagher lot (off of University Drive), the Norwood Plaza lot, and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions lot near to Schott Hall. The Admissions lot is ONLY for visitors who have a scheduled visit with our admissions staff.
How do visitors obtain a parking permit?
Visitors must obtain a visitor’s permit from Parking Services (Office of Auxiliary Services) in the Musketeer Mezzanine at Fenwick Place, the Xavier Police in Flynn Hall, or from the Information Booth on University Drive.
How do I obtain a Temporary Permit? What is the cost?
Temporary Permits may only be obtained from Parking Services (Office of Auxiliary Services) during normal business hours. The following cost structure is currently in place: Monthly $30; weekly $10; Daily $2. If you are currently registered student, you may not request a temporary permit for yourself unless an unforeseen circumstance has occurred with your vehicle where your parking permit is deemed no longer usable.
What are reasons for an appeal to be granted?
There is substantial evidence that proves to the Parking Appeals Panel that a violation was not committed.
What are not valid reasons for appealing a parking citation?
- Lack of knowledge of the regulations
- Parking for a short period
- Running late for class or a meeting
- Inability to find an authorized parking space
- Having the wrong permit for the space used
- Failure to obtain a temporary permit
- Failure to notice parking signs
- Failure to display a parking permit
- Disagreement with, or inability to pay, the fines
