Transfer Policy
Transfer students should contact the Director of the Athletic Training Education Program early in their application process to the University.
Students will be considered on an individual bases following admission into the University.
All required athletic training courses, competencies, and proficiencies must be completed in the Xavier University Athletic Training Education Program.
The Athletic Training Program Director and the Registrar will evaluate the coursework from other institutions to determine which courses will meet the requirements of Xavier University and the Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP).
Transfer students must be willing to retake any required component of this ATEP initially completed at another institution. All Athletic Training Education Programs, are based upon the nationally accepted athletic training educational competencies and each ATEP distributes these competencies differently. The ATEP from which a student graduates is required to document that each graduate has been adequately educated on each of these competencies. If you take a component of this ATEP at another institution we can not guarantee that you have been adequately educated on each of the required educational competencies. It is therefore this ATEP's obligation to insist that each student progress through each part of the ATEP.
The ATEP at Xavier University is a four-year program. In special cases and at the discretion of the Program Director, a transfer student may be able to complete the program in a six-semester plan. This will partially depend upon the number of general education requirements that were previously fulfilled.
Transfer students wishing to enter the program must submit all application materials and meet the programs application requirements. The most current admission information is available from the Director of the Athletic Training Education Program. Please contact Dr. Tina Davlin-Pater (513-745-3430) for more information.
