When it comes to Xavier's student-athletes, devotion defines Sr. Rose Ann Fleming. While she stands just over 5 feet tall, her commitment to their well-being is monumental. She's the first person to greet each player at the end of a basketball game, shaking their hands as they come off the court. Students are the greatest beneficiary of gifts to Xavier's Annual Fund. And unrestricted gifts allow the University the most flexibility in directing money to wherever the need is greatest—scholarships for deserving students. These gifts help make up the difference between tuition and the actual cost to educate a Xavier student.

Every year, the Annual Fund:

• Raises about $7 million for Xavier.
• Provides necessary funds for immediate needs that arise during the school year.
• Helps perpetuate the Xavier mission of preparing men and women for others.

The Parents Fund

Gifts to the Parents Fund are a way for parents of current Xavier students to ensure all students benefit from a Xavier education.

All gifts to the Annual Fund support Xavier students, no matter the size of the gift. But those who give $1,000 or more become members of The 1831 Society, a select group of donors whose gifts offer the greatest benefit for Xavier students.

The All For One Club helps provide the necessary funding and resources to allow all of Xavier's Division I athletic programs to compete and win at the highest level.

All For One Club members know they're making a difference in the lives of student-athletes while also helping Xavier continue it's winning tradition. These gifts help the AFO reach its goals of:

• Funding scholarships for student-athletes.
• Increasing scholarship funding for those teams that fall below the maximum number of scholarships allowed by the NCAA.
• Enhancing the academic support provided to all student-athletes (average 3.1 GPA every semester).
• Increasing the level of competition for all 18 programs.
• Improving competition and training facilities, and funding annual expenses related to team travel and operating needs.
• Attracting and retaining the best possible coaches, assistants and administrators.

Women have always been a part of Xavier's history. But it wasn't until 1969, when women were first admitted as full-time day students, that their importance to the Xavier community began to be fully realized.

In recognition of the significant contributions of all women graduates of Xavier and Edgecliff College to Xavier's history and traditions, Xavier created the Women of Excellence program.

Since 2007, the Women of Excellence has provided opportunities for women to connect and grow as organizational and philanthropic leaders. The Women of Excellence is committed to the intellectual, moral and spiritual growth of women through programs that foster active engage- ment with and for Xavier.

Reconnect with Xavier by joining the Women of Excellence.

• As a donor to the Giving Circle. Members pool their money and select projects they want to fund from those submitted by faculty, staff and students. Full membership is $1,000. Partial membership is $100 or more.
• As a mentor. Mentors are matched with students who are looking for advice and guidance as they make their way toward graduation and a career.

Gifts to the University's endowment are a promise to ensure Xavier's future. An endowment is a sign of fiscal strength, and growing the endowment is fundamental to sustaining Xavier's long-term vision of being the nation's leading comprehensive Jesuit Catholic University.

"The financial aid we had was really the Jesuits, because they were the bulk of the teachers here," says Gerald De Brunner, Class of 1959. "The older alums ought to be thinking they're repaying the Jesuit endowment that they had when they were here."

Xavier has an endowment today that's smaller than at most other Jesuit universities and puts Xavier at a distinct disadvantage. Xavier offers several ways to grow the endowment by making an endowed gift:

• Endowed scholarships can tip the scales in a student's decision to enroll: $25,000 minimum to endow a scholarship payable over time.
• Endowed chairs enhance the quality of the faculty and the educational experience for students: $2 million minimum needed to endow a chair.
• Endowed professorships recruit and retain the best faculty: minimum $1 million commitment is needed for a fully endowed professorship.

Planned gifts are essential to the financial stability of Xavier. These gifts allow the University to make long-term plans for its academic curriculum, programs, activities and even its physical plant.

Planned gifts are made through the Father Finn Society, a select group of alumni and friends who have made Xavier a part of their legacy by including the University in their long-term estate or financial planning.

Their gifts benefit the University for many years to come. Just a few sentences in a will, trust or IRA beneficiary form is all that's needed to lay the foundation for Xavier's future legacy.
