2009 Xavier Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

This year's ceremony, to be held prior to the Xavier women's Crosstown Shootout against University of Cincinnati on Dec. 6, honors the 40th anniversary of women on Xavier's campus. With this class, there will be 105 members.

About the 2009 Inductees

Thrine M. Kane '03, an eight-time All-American at Xavier, who helped guide the Xavier Rifle team to the highest finish in school history when it recorded a second-place finish at the 2000 NCAA Championship. Thrine led Xavier to four consecutive Final Four appearances, culminating with a return to the Championship and another second-place finish during her senior year. She was selected to the 2000 US Olympic Shooting Team for the Sydney Olympic Games. A sophomore, she was the youngest member selected to the US Olympic Rifle Team and joined fellow alum and Xavier Hall of Fame member Jason Parker on the team.

Nicole M. Levandusky '01, was the 2001 Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Year, and a 2000 and 2001 First Team All-Atlantic 10 selection. Nicole was honored on the 2001 NCAA All-Mideast Region Team after leading Xavier to a 31-3 mark and the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight. She was fourth on Xavier's all-time scoring list with 1,755 career points, and holds the school record for 3-point field goals (287) and steals (364).

Taru T. Tuukkanen '01, was on both the 2000 and 2001 First Team All-Atlantic 10 for Women's Basketball. She was a 2001 Associated Press Honorable Mention All-American and was honored on the 2001 NCAA All-Mideast Region Team after leading XU to a 31-3 mark and the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight. Taru led the team in scoring and rebounding her freshman, junior, and senior seasons. Third on Xavier's all-time scoring list with 1,785 career points, she was also ranked third on Xavier's all-time rebounding list with 823 and second on the school's all-time blocks list with 103.
