All licensure core courses listed below (except electives) are required for all licensure options {in addition to the appropriate internship(s)}. An academic advisor will evaluate your previous transcripts to determine if you have already completed any of the courses listed below for licensure. Any combination of the following courses that total 18 semester hours will, when combined with the 12 core hours, equal 30 semester hours and thus qualify the candidate to apply for the M.Ed. in Educational Administration graduate comprehensive examination. Upon successful completion of the comprehensive examination the M.Ed. will be awarded.
Total semester hours needed for Administration Ohio Principal License is 45 hours.

To receive a Principal or Administrative Specialist License in the state of Ohio, the candidate must complete an internship through Xavier equaling 6 semester hours. After completing the total 45 semester hours for the principal or administrative licensure program, the candidate is eligible to complete the application for Ohio licensure. (Applications are available in the School of Education office at Hailstones Hall 200.)
