Academic Advising

The Academic Advising Center supports undergraduate students in fulfilling Xavier's mission to form students intellectually, morally, and spiritually by helping them pursue educational plans and programs which lead towards a major, minor or degree requirements and to be academically successful individuals.

The Center ensures that every undergraduate student in the three colleges has an academic advisor and understands:

  • academic policies
  • registration procedures
  • core curriculum requirements
  • requirements in individual majors

The Center publishes each year A Guide to Academic Advising which summarizes the purpose and guidelines of academic advising at Xavier for all academic advisors (both faculty & professional) and students.  This guide can be found on the portal.  Additionally, the Center updates and disseminates to the three colleges academic advising information related to priority registration procedures, core curriculum requirements and academic advisors for the fall, spring semesters and summer PREP.
