Academic Advising
ACADEMIC ADVISING PROCEDURES FOR STUDENTS FOR SPRING 2010
Academic Advising begins Monday, October 19.
Priority registration begins Monday, November 9.
Prior to Monday, November 9, all students should:
- make an appointment to meet with their academic advisor to select, discuss and approve courses for the spring semester. If you do not know the name of your academic advisor, you may go to the myxu portal Student Services tab and select the “view Student Information” option, or check the appropriate section of the Academic Advising Center bulletin board on the first floor in Alter Hall. Advisor office locations and telephone numbers are also listed on the bulletin board.
- have the advisor sign the registration form and retain the yellow copy.
CHANGE IN MAJOR, MINOR OR COLLEGES:
- Students in the College of Arts & Sciences wishing to change, declare, or add a major or minor should see Dr. Jim Snodgrass, Associate Dean, CAS, Alter 124 to obtain the Declaration of Major form to take to the appropriate college/department for signatures.
- Students in the Williams College of Business wishing to change, declare, or add a major or minor should see Ms. Cindy Stockwell, executive director of undergraduate programs, WCB Hailstone Room 203, to obtain the Declaration of Major form to take to the appropriate college/department for signatures.
- Students in the College of Social Sciences, Health, and Education (CSSHE) wishing to declare a major or change a major should first consult with the new department and have the change of major form signed by the Department Chair. If a minor is being declared, the Director of the Minor must sign the change of major form. In both cases, the form with all appropriate signatures should be delivered to:
-The office of Dr. Jennifer Fager, The School of Education Office,
(Elet 107) for all Education majors
-The office of Dr. Mark Meyers, CSSHE Dean’s Office,
(Schmidt 105) for all other majors
- check your registration appointment time on the Self-Service Access channel on the Student Services tab of your myxu portal and follow the menu options. For students registering in person, the lines begin in the basement of Alter Hall.

| Monday, Nov 23 | Final date for undergraduates to withdraw from spring full-term courses. |
| Saturday-Thursday, Dec 12-18 | Fall semester final exams - see exam schedule online. |
