Vice President for Student Enrollment
Terry Clark Richards is the Vice President for Student Enrollment at Xavier University, a position he's held since coming to the University in August 2007. He is responsible for undergraduate admission and financial aid. Richards has been in leadership positions in the field of higher education for more than 30 years.
Before coming to Xavier, Richards served for eight years as Associate Vice President, Enrollment Management, at Loyola University Chicago. He joined Loyola in 1997 as Director of Financial Aid.
While at Loyola, Richards led a significant turnaround in the University's undergraduate admission and financial aid strategies, achieving record-breaking results. Applications accelerated from less than 4,000 in 2000 to more than 19,000 annually by 2007. Under his direction, freshman and transfer enrollments grew substantially, resulting in Loyola's largest-ever entering classes.
Prior to his work at Loyola, Richards worked for the Illinois Student Assistance Commission, Wayne State University and Illinois State University. Earlier in his career, at The Ohio State University, he was the Assistant Director of Operations in the Office of Student Financial Aid, and also served as the Director of Financial Aid at Ohio Dominican in Columbus.
He holds an M.Ed. in Higher Education from Loyola University of Chicago, an MA in Counseling and a BBA in Marketing from Marshall University, Huntington, West Virginia, where he also began his higher education career as a graduate assistant in the Office of Financial Aid.
