Roger Fortin

Academic Vice President & Provost
Roger Fortin is the academic vice president and provost at Xavier. He joined the University in 1966 as assistant professor of history. During his years at Xavier he has been promoted to the rank of professor, served as chair of the department, and performed various administrative tasks, ranging from director of the library and dean of Edgecliff College of Xavier to associate academic vice president and academic vice president and provost. Moreover, Fortin has published several articles and books on aspects of American history.
He wrote Faith and Action: A History of the Catholic Archdiocese of Cincinnati, 1821-1996, published by Ohio State University Press, 2002.
As part of Xavier's 175th anniversary, he wrote To See Great Wonders: A History of Xavier University, 1831-2006, published by University of Scranton Press, 2006.
