Summary and highlights of 2007 Meeting

This year's 2007 Ohio Classical Conference was held at the Hilton Inn on the Medical Campus of the University of Toledo. Special thanks go out to this past year’s OCC president Steven Strauss of the Notre Dame Academy for putting together this year’s program. As always, the Ohio Classical Conference offered a unique opportunity for collaboration and discussion among teachers of the Classics at the university, high school, and middle school level.

Special thanks also go out to our Vergilian Society luncheon speaker Professor Stanley Lombardo of the University of Kansas and to the OCC Banquet Speaker Professor Richard Fox of Cleveland State University. Professor Lombardo performed a moving rendition of the “Camilla” story from his recent translation of the Aeneid, while Professor Fox addressed the topic of “The Logos Doctrine.”

The OCC also thanks Sarah Knudsen, the Associate Curator of Ancient Art at the Toledo Museum of Art, for leading the attendees on a tour of the museum’s collections.
