Graduate Nursing

The School of Nursing offers both a Master of Science in Nursing program and a post-master's clinical nurse leader certificate (MSN CNL). Whether a registered nurse or an individual with a desire to be a registered nurse who has a bachelor's degree in another field, there is an entry point into graduate nursing designed for you. Graduates are prepared to assume professional leadership roles that encompass educational, consultative, and managerial functions and also prepared to design and establish delivery services in response to current health care policy changes.  Objectives » 

The MSN program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing (OBN), and endorsed by the American Holistic Nurses Certification Corporation (AHNCC). The AHNCC endorsement permits graduates to sit for the Holistic Nurse Certification (HNC) examination.

MSN Entry Points for Registered Nurses

RN with BSN
RN with BA/BS (Educational Mobility Option)
RN with ADN/Nursing Diploma (RN to MSN)

Currently the MSN for RNs is offered on-site at the main campus and at partner sites in Ohio and Lexington, Kentucky via video conferencing.

Entry Point for Non-nurses with a Bachelor's Degree

MSN: Direct Entry as Second Degree - MIDAS Program 
This is a 20-month full-time pre-licensure MSN program offered onsite at the main campus.

2 Simulated Study

Xavier’s new, state-of-the-art clinical simulation laboratory
supplements the nursing student’s clinical experiences by providing a futuristic simulated learning environment. Using a human patient simulator, students have the opportunity to participate in Simulated Study challenging, real-life scenarios. Xavier’s life-sized, computerdriven human simulation mannequin blinks, speaks and breathes, as well as mirrors accurate human reactions to procedures such as CPR, ventilation, catheterization and intubation.
