Library Resources: Streaming Videos

Streaming Video Collections

Thousands of educational streaming videos on a wide variety of topics are available through the Library’s licensed collections. These videos can be viewed by students, faculty and staff on campus and at home. In addition, faculty can show these videos in the classroom or link to them in a Canvas course.

Educational Films and Documentaries

Contains full-length educational videos covering a wide variety of subjects. The collection currently includes videos from two distributors; Ambrose Video and Films for the Humanities & Sciences.

Films on Demand

Contains educational films and film segments on a broad range of topics including art, business, education, health, history, philosophy, religion, performing arts, English, and psychology.

Adobe Digital Editions 4

Xavier Library has been made aware of a software vulnerability that exists within Adobe Digital Editions 4, the software that is used by some vendors to view books that have been downloaded. Adobe Digital Editions has been logging data on the books used with this application that have been downloaded on the devices or computers of library users. Books by the Banks: Cincinnati USA Book Festival is an annual celebration of books and reading that takes place every October in downtown Cincinnati. The day-long festival features national, regional, and local authors and illustrators; book signings; panel discussions; and activities for the entire family to enjoy.This year, the event will take place on Saturday, October 11 from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. at Duke Energy Center. September 21st-27th, 2014 is Banned Books Week! This is a week to celebrate the freedom to read, and the right to express ideas freely. There are many books that have been banned, or challenged in schools across the nation for their unpopular notions. Come check out some of those titles on the 3rd floor of the McDonald Library.
